A plantar wart is a small patch of skin that grows abnormally on the bottom of your foot when the skin is infected by a virus called human papilloma virus or HPV, The virus may enter the body through small cuts or breaks in the skin, They appear mostly in the weight bearing areas of the feet. Plantar warts usually resolve on their own without treatment. Some symptoms of a plantar wart are thickening of the skin, pain in or around wart site. Tenderness or discomfort with walking may also be a symptom. Treatment for plantar warts can include topical medication, oral medication, surgical resection, or laser treatment.
